NASHVILLE – Bowling Green FC opened their season with a 2-1 win over Paul Depay FC at Rose Park Stadium on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in a competitive match that ended in regulation time. The 6:30 PM kickoff saw both teams trade early goals before Bowling Green secured the victory with a first-half header.
Bowling Green took the lead in the 7th minute when Shukurani Makiwa scored off a counterattack, assisted by Brent Estas. Paul Depay FC responded quickly, equalizing at 1-1 in the 9th minute after a defensive error. Daniel Nkurunziza put Bowling Green back in front before halftime, heading in a cross to make it 2-1.
The second half featured end-to-end action as Paul Depay pressed for an equalizer, but Bowling Green’s defense stood firm. Despite chances for both sides, no further goals were scored, leaving the final tally at 2-1.
